"Jesus, I vaguely knew about You as a figure way back in history, but I just couldn't see the point so clearly. Now I do see more, I'd like to respond to You, here, now.
Thank You for all You have done for me, Jesus. Thank You for dying on the cross in my place, taking the punishment for my mistakes and for my going away from God. Lord Jesus, please forgive me; I am sorry.
Lord, please help me to understand and believe in You more. Lord Jesus, You are alive, but I don't know You. Please come into my life, so I can know You in a real way, and help me to go along with Your voice inside. Thank You for loving me. Help me to love You.
Amen."
Quite undramatic, maybe, but what Jesus asks for, in the parable of the Sower, is an honest heart to hear His word and hold on to it (Luke 8:15).
Please do get hold of a copy of the Bible, or at least the New Testament, preferably translated in a way you can understand, for example the New King James Version (1984) or the New International Version (1984).
As you read, ask God to show you more of who Jesus really is. Jesus said "Ask and it shall be given to you" (Luke 11:9). Ask God especially for the Holy Spirit to make His word clear and real to you (Luke 11:13) and to guide you into His truth (John 16:13).
